Dylan D. Mickelson, 19, of Medford, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, August 1, 2026, leaving behind a family, circle of friends and community members who are now remembering a young man whose energy, kindness and devotion to those close to him made a lasting impression.

Born in Medford on December 9, 2006, Dylan was the son of Lisa Mickelson and Thomas McAdorey. He graduated from RVA in 2025 and was employed by Sierra Pacific at the time of his death.

Though his life was brief, Dylan filled it with interests and experiences that reflected his lively personality. He enjoyed working on cars, traveling, listening to music and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed shooting sports and valued the freedom and time spent pursuing the activities he loved.

Those closest to Dylan remember a young man who cared deeply about his family and the people in his life. He was known for bringing energy and happiness into the spaces he occupied and for making sure the people he loved felt supported and cared for.

For his family and friends, his death has brought not only sorrow but also a renewed appreciation for the memories they shared with him—the conversations, laughter, adventures and ordinary moments that now carry an even greater meaning.

Dylan is survived by his mother, Lisa Mickelson of Abbotsford, and his father, Thomas McAdorey, and his wife Michelle, of Tennessee. He is also survived by his siblings, Shiann Mickelson, Emily McAdorey and Lucas McAdorey.

His surviving family also includes his grandparents, Sharon Rose, Gerald Mickelson, Rebecca Johnson and Thomas Johnson, as well as Ron Long and his wife Melody. Dylan is further survived by his girlfriend, Autumn Armatoski; his aunt, Kayla; his uncle, Allen; cousins Hailey and Vincent; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his step-grandfather, Dennis Rose; his uncles, Travis Mickelson and Patrick McAdorey; his cousin, Landon Wendt; and his friend, Joey Houk.

Celebration of Life and Memorial Service

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Dylan’s life on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford.

The celebration of life is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The gathering will provide an opportunity for those who knew and loved Dylan to come together, share memories and honor the life of a young man whose absence will be deeply felt.

Remembering Dylan D. Mickelson

Dylan’s legacy will live on in the memories held by his family, friends and everyone whose life he touched. He will be remembered not simply for the circumstances of his death, but for the person he was—the son, brother, grandson, boyfriend, friend and young man who brought his own character and spirit to the lives around him.

His love of cars, music, travel and the outdoors reflected a life that was still unfolding, with many experiences and possibilities ahead of him. His death at the age of 19 has left a profound void among those who loved him, but the memories created during his life will continue to be carried forward.

Dylan D. Mickelson will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends and the Medford and Abbotsford communities. As loved ones gather in September to celebrate his life, they will honor the memories, relationships and moments that made Dylan who he was.
